The honeybee is a vital member of the ecosystem. You may be allergic to their sting, but you owe them a debt of gratitude. Without the honeybee, we would lose every third bite of our food almost immediately. They’re directly responsible for the production of 1/3 of our food supply. When you factor in animals and their reliance on many of the same foods that we eat, that number jumps to almost 50%. Imagine what it would be like if half of our food disappeared. That’s why we need to protect and help the bees.
