Swarm removal

We are happy to help you identify swarms of honeybees and we can come to your Kingston-area location to capture and relocate them.

The important thing is to be certain that what you’ve got really are honeybees. We cannot safely remove other stinging insects – such as bumble bees, wasps, hornets, or yellow jackets. If you are not sure what you have, here is a link to help you. If you can take a picture of them, please email it to us and we’ll help you.

Call us if you see what you suspect is a swarm; make note of the time. If they are honeybees and we can safely get to them, we’ll do what we can to remove them. If they’re not easily accessible (too high in a tree, etc.), you don’t have to worry. A swarm is a temporary situation. The bees have split from a healthy and thriving colony and are searching for a more permanent home.

So long as the swarm is in a tree, or other accessible spot – i.e., not inside the walls of a building, we do not charge for this removal service – we are happy to take the bees in exchange for our efforts. Other situations will depend upon available time and will be assessed on an individual basis.
